The Acappella Jubilee Xpress Chorus welcomes women of all ages to our Monday evening rehearsals. Previous choral experience is helpful but not required. You will be given a copy of our current music to use for the evening, and sing along to really experience the thrill of being "in" the chorus. Or, if you prefer, you may sit back and listen as we learn and work to perfect our craft. Opportunities abound for growth and leadership roles in all aspects of the organization, including music, directing and arranging, administration, show production, fund raising or marketing.
Rehearsals start at 7:00 p.m. with physical and vocal warm-ups; musical rehearsal generally begins at 7:30 p.m. and runs until 9:20 p.m. when we break for our business meeting. Guests are welcome for any portion of the evening.
Rehearsals are located at The First Presbyterian Church, Richardson Hall 535 Ewing, Helena, Montana 59601.

BARBERSHOP HARMONY Barbershop harmony consists of four parts: tenor, lead, baritone and bass. It is unique in that the melody part is generally not the highest part. The bass forms a foundation, the lead sings the melody, the tenor floats above the other three parts, and the baritone fills in the chord where needed. The goal is to ring chords, producing a note above the other four that no one is singing. Barbershop music is not just for those who like the old tunes. We also sing newer songs that appeal to a variety of tastes. |
